I'm Ashley, a thirty-something, wellness enthusiast turned finance geek (who loves saving money), living in Portland, Oregon with my husband Colton, our kids, and our cat Jericho.
I'm just your average mama sharing about what it is like to be Mrs. Groves and I'm so glad you're following along! I hope you'll grab a cup of coffee and stay a while!
What a year 2020 has been! As I’m writing this, we are in Utah and 6 out of 7 of us have a confirmed or suspected case of covid. Despite being sick, we have so much to be thankful for, especially this year.
Hello friends and family, this is Jericho Groves, but my humans call me many different names like: Jimmy Boy, Bears, and Jer Bear, to name a few. I don’t see the appeal, but they love these “pet names.” Anyways, I am the fur baby to Colton and Ashley Groves. They adopted me in September of 2017 and I have been spoiled since. My humans are trying to get me to become more social by introducing me to all the neighborhood kittens, but they scare me too much. I thought writing a letter to some humans would be a safer and less anxiety-ridden experience.
This year we traveled to a combined total of seven states; from the east to the west of the USA. It was a year packed full of adventure, including adding a member to our little family. ;)
This is BY FAR our best Christmas card yet! We are now forever trying to one-up this Christmas card, but have yet to make one as good. I’ll just leave this right here for ya.
It only took me 3 years to get our 2015 Christmas photos up on the blog. Better late than never, right? It is 2018 when I'm writing this and I’m amazed at how many things have changed in the past three years (graduating college, moving to Portland, adopting a kitty), but our clothing isn't one of them! I'm slightly embarrassed to admit this, but we both still have these same shirts - and we still wear them!
This post is dedicated to my little fur ball, Jericho Groves, in honor of his first birthday! I realize that I talk about him just as much as other mom's talk about their real babies, and I'm okay with that. He will always be my first baby. Read on to hear all about his milestones in this first year of his life.
Can I be completely honest with you? I have a fear of blogging. I aspire to be some awesome blogger sharing amazing content, with beautiful photos, blah, blah, blah. That's not me, at least not now.
I've heard numerous times that the first year of marriage is the hardest. This question really puzzles me because our first year of marriage was so much easier than when we were dating.
Colton and I recently read a book called Love and Respect by Dr. Emerson Eggerichs for marriage counselling (Ebay and Amazon). It is probably one of the most insightful books I have ever read. I now understand the male specimen more than I ever have before and have also learned more about myself.
